THRIVE (Transforming Healthcare through Immersive Virtual Environments)

Goldsmiths VR for Health Conference

The event is now fully subscribed.

4th July (Tuesday) 9:30am - 6pm

Venue: LG01, Professor Stuart Hall Building (PSH), Goldsmiths, University of London

We aim to bring together partners from academic, healthcare, and the industry to open up the possibilities of VR as a transformative technology for health and healthcare. VR has been shown to be effective at tackling some of the most challenging healthcare issues of our time, potentially offering scalable and impactful solutions for medical training, managing patient pain, treating mental health conditions, improving wellbeing, and rehabilitating patients. To achieve this vision we need healthcare professionals, VR developers and researchers to work closely together to develop high quality VR technologies that genuinely address healthcare needs. For these technologies to be successful we also need to rigorously evaluate them using methodologies that are informed both by medical and VR research. This workshop will be an opportunity to share the latest research and best practice as well as a networking opportunity to develop new collaborations.
